Since I was a little girl I have been inspired by the courage and interesting heritage of my grandmothers.

My maternal grandmother, Gladys Samantha, had more than enough medical struggles than any one person should bear and she just continued on her journey with great determination. My paternal great grandmother was a full-blooded American Indian, with an interesting past. Together, these two women touched my life so much that I wanted to dedicate the name of my practice to them. The name, Great Spirit Acupuncture, incorporates the initials of maternal grandmother (G.S.) and the idea of my paternal great grandmother. The logo I chose is the Chinese character for hawk, in honor of my great grandmother, Carolyn Hawk.
